I am excited to announce that our bilingual books’ collection has expanded. With the goal of gathering more children around our reading tables, we have translated our fantastic Haitian folktales in French and Spanish (side by side). All of our books are on Amazon and ready to be perfect reading gifts. Thanks for the support! Click here: https://www.amazon.com/-/e/B00LJ9WZJU

Testimonial – Oct. 8, 2014

A thank-you note from Dr. Steven M. Kirby, President of Housing, Education, and Rehabilitation of Orphans (H.E.R.O.) in Haiti:

H.E.R.O. thanks Dr. Mireille Lauture for writing and donating the bilingual Kreyol/English books that you see Billy and Jude reading in this picture. This article http://mamiverse.com/improving-childrens-literacy-59173/ explains the importance of Haitian Kreyol in the language development of children in Haiti, a piece that is often missing from the nation wide curriculum. Thank you Dr. Mireille for giving back to your home country and helping the children at H.E.R.O. become multi-lingual.

With your financial support from donors, we were able to mail out 20 books to supply 2 school libraries for needy children in the parish of St. Claire in Dessalines, Haiti. Together we are making a difference!

I am happy to be receiving accolades for the endeavor that we, at Mancy’s Haitian Folktale Collection, Inc., are undertaking. We strive to making a difference in this world by taking on the pledge of supporting literacy through charitable donations of our bilingual books to needy children in orphanages and schools around the world, starting with Haiti. With a minimum donation of $20 (tax deductible) via Paypal you can support this worthy cause. Wherever our books are shipped to, you will be able to see happy faces of the children who benefited from your generous dollars when we post their pictures on our page. We are planning our first book shipment for February of 2014. Please help us. Thanks!

My daughters, Victoria and Sherlynn, and I have teamed up to start a new non-profit organization -Mancy’s Haitian Folktale Collection, Inc.- whose mission is to fully support literacy. Our books are presently in English and Haitian Creole in order to contribute to the effectiveness of Bilingual Education. Therefore, our goal is to continue translating these folktales into many languages, which will broaden our horizon and allow us to reach out and touch the children living in orphanages, as well as make our books available to schools worldwide, including Haiti.

As a result of individual donations to some Haitian centers, we are excited to be informed that our bilingual children’s books are now in great demand by many educational institutions in Haiti and other Caribbean countries. The achievement of such an endeavor requires financial support. Your help and generosity will be greatly appreciated. With a minimum donation of $20 (tax deductible), you can brighten the life of many needy children and give them an education today and for years to come. Even if you do not have a PayPal account you can still donate by clicking on the button below. Thank you for your understanding and support.
